ジークムント・フロイトの功績・生涯・エピソード

【人間の心の仕組みを原我・自我・超自我で説明】
ユダヤ系オーストリア人として生まれたフロイトは、ウィーン大学卒業後、同大学で神経学の教授となった。また神経病理学の臨床医としても活躍した。
フロイトは、ヒステリーの治療経験を積むうちに、神経症の原因が、深層心理の規制生涯にあるとの説を打ち出した。フロイトによれば、人間の心は、イド（原我）・エゴ（自我）・良心（超自我）から成るという。イドは、最も深層にあり、性欲と破壊の本能。エゴは外界との調停役。エゴと良心が、イドとの葛藤を起こしたとき、「抑圧」「置換」「昇華」などの防衛規制が働くと説いた。こも規制に障害が生じたときに神経症が起こるというのである。この説は、社会に衝撃をあたえ、文学・実存主義哲学、社会科学に影響を与えた。晩年はナチスによる迫害でロンドンに亡命し、没した。
フロイトの性欲による精神分析の創始は、社会に衝撃をあたえ、その衝撃度は、コペルニクスの地動説、ダーウィンの進化論とならび称されている。
また、フロイトは自身を心理学者と述べているが、「無意識」を扱ったのはフロイトが初めてだったため、その精神分析は「無意識の哲学」と呼ばれ、フロイトは広義の哲学者とされている。
